Job summary

Capital One Canada is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead enterprise AI initiatives. You will partner with data scientists, ML engineers and product managers to deliver scalable data-driven solutions across billions of records, leveraging Python, AWS, Spark and open-source tools.

You will design experiments, validate models, and drive strategic AI adoption at scale. You will cultivate a data-driven culture, mentor teams, and translate complex findings into actionable business outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 9 years of data analytics experience
• Master's degree (or MBA with quantitative concentration) plus 7 years of data analytics experience
• PhD in a quantitative field plus 4 years of data analytics experience
• At least 4 years using open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis
• At least 4 years building/deploying AI/ML models in production
• At least 4 years designing and analyzing A/B tests

Responsibilities

• Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and product managers to deliver enterprise products
• Leverage a broad stack of technologies (Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark) to reveal insights from large data
• Build machine learning models through all phases: design, training, evaluation, and implementation
• Translate complex work into tangible business goals for stakeholders
