Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. We offer a variety of Japanese dishes, including yakitori, and aim to provide our customers with an authentic Japanese experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, food handling, and restaurant management, with a passion for creating innovative dishes that reflect our restaurant's vision. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety, and managing a team of cooks and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality food production.
  • Develop and design menus that align with the restaurant's concept while incorporating seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with management on inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food costs.
  • Monitor kitchen performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years remaining on your visa.
  • At least 1 year of experience at an Asian restaurant.
  • Ability to speak conversational English.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take initiative.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food handling practices, and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management within a restaurant setting.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary arts and innovation.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management.
