Head Cashier

Position Purpose: The front end is the last opportunity to thank customers and show appreciation. The Head Cashier ensures this by managing responsibilities listed in this description and holding Front End associates accountable.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee work activity within the department, motivate the team to demonstrate Customer FIRST behaviors.
• Promote current promotions by providing associates with promotion locations to effectively direct customers.
• Communicate store and Home Depot objectives to associates.
• Train and supervise Cashiers (including remote cashier locations) and Lot Associates.
• Set performance expectations and provide on-the-job feedback.
• Deliver outstanding service to external and internal customers by ensuring efficient Front End and Remote Cashier operations.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Maintain a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards.
• Complete safety training, correct hazards immediately, report unsafe conditions, and work safely to prevent endangerment of self, co-workers, vendors, or customers.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

• Minimum time in position and performance management code requirements of V2 (or P3 in previous system).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, and duties related to customer transactions, cash handling, service desk, and lot.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

The pay range is between $19.45 - $21.20 per hour.
