Pro Vita Care Management is hiring multiple Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to support residents in a Penticton long-term care setting. Positions include full-time, part-time, and casual with shifts covering day, evening, and night hours.

Wages range from $32.84 to $41.35 per hour and bonuses up to $5,000 are offered. We require BC LPN registration, current First Aid/CPR, vaccination proof, and a clean criminal record.

Qualifications

• LPN registration with BCCNM is mandatory for eligibility.
• First Aid and CPR “A” certificate required.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 status required (may be Level 2).
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required.
• Criminal record check required every 5 years.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, document and update residents’ physical and psychological condition and nursing procedures.
• Provide and assist with personal care to residents as required.
• Support emergency staff scheduling as needed.
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and provide education on outbreaks.

Shifts:

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off: EVE Shift (3pm-11pm) x 1
  • 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off: NIGHT Shift (11pm-7am) x 1
  • 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off: MORNING Shift (7am-3pm) x 1
  • (TEMPORARY) 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off: EVE Shift (3pm-11pm) x 1
• Part-time
  • 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off, 4 days on 3 days off: DAY/EVE shift (7am-3pm/ 3pm to 11pm), 33.5 hours per week x 2

Wages: $32.84 - $41.35 per hour

Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN Must Haves:

• Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurses program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience recognized by the BCCNM.
• Maintains a Valid First Aid and CPR “A” Certificate.
• Maintain Occupational First Aide Level 1 status (may be a Level 2 depending on site).
• Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.

Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN Nice to Haves:

• Gerontological experience preferred.
• MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care).
• 1-2 years’ experience in a complex care site is preferred .

Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN Responsibilities:

• Observes, monitors, documents and updates information about resident’s physical and psychological condition, care, and nursing procedures.
• Provides and assists with personal care to residents as required.
• Supports emergency staff scheduling, as required.
• Ensures adherence to Infection Control Practices and provides education as required for Outbreak and basic infection control practices.

• Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings
• Recognizing deviations from mental health baseline, differentiating between dementia and delirium
• Assesses and monitors resident’s actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Taking appropriate action such as consulting with the primary physician or making referral to the Mental Health Team.
