• Experience in transportation, trucking, hauling, logistics, or commercial dispatch.
• Strong knowledge of route planning, geography, and commercial transportation requirements.
• Familiarity with commercial trucks, trailers, and various equipment.
• Working knowledge of transportation permits, restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills for changing plans.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail for multiple priorities.
• Clear, professional communication and customer-service mindset.
• Comfort using dispatch software, GPS/fleet tracking, email, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan and dispatch hauling trips, matching drivers, trucks, trailers, routes, and schedules to each job's requirements.
• Plan efficient routes considering equipment, load dimensions, road restrictions, permits, hours, and timelines.
• Coordinate permits, documentation, pickup and delivery appointments, and other trip requirements.
• Communicate with drivers and customers with clear instructions, estimates, timelines, and updates.
• Monitor active trips and address delays, equipment issues, and schedule changes.
• Optimize use of drivers and equipment by considering availability and maintenance.
• Ensure trip information, paperwork, rates, and details are complete and accurate.
• Collaborate with management and dispatch team to plan upcoming work and mentor junior staff.
