Radius Community Health and Healing is seeking a CSW for the supervised consumption service, focusing on monitoring client spaces, screening, and triaging entries. The role emphasizes building rapport with participants, harm-reduction education, and coordinating care with the clinic team.

1.0 FTE with schedule 12:30pm-8:30pm Mon-Thu and 9:00am-5:00pm Fri; the CSW will assist with overdose response and connect clients to Radius programs.

Qualifications

• Mandatory vulnerable sector check and suitable criminal record check.
• Able to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities, strong problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and experience working with both diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Understanding of trauma informed care and social determinants of health.

Responsabilités

• Build relationships with service users.
• Provide referrals to support services.
• Provide education and counselling on safer drug use, harm reduction, and sexual health.
• Provide overdose prevention education and Naloxone training for take-home Naloxone kits.
• Assist with overdose emergencies under the direction of a nurse and follow their direction.
• Assist the nurse with monitoring service users, and bring medical concerns to their attention.
• Work with a nurse to patrol, monitor, and connect individuals around the Radius neighborhood.
• Assist community with drug poisonings, harm reduction counselling, and overdose response.
• Build rapport and relationships with community members to increase their utilization of Radius healthcare and social services.
