Job summary

Aversan Inc. in Toronto, ON, seeks a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join our team.

You will design and implement test procedures, fixtures, and software for RF and radiation systems, and develop manual and automated test setups. You will create test plans, scripts, and reports, maintain traceability for audits, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to enable testable designs and robust validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Strong hands-on hardware testing and validation experience.
• Proficient with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs).
• Experience with CAD tools such as Altium, KiCad, Eagle or Allegro.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test procedures, fixtures, and software for PCBs and RF/radiation systems.
• Create manual and automated test setups using lab equipment.
• Develop and maintain test scripts to improve efficiency and repeatability.
• Develop test plans, test cases, and test reports aligned with specs and customer requirements.
• Maintain traceability and records for audits and continuous improvement.
• Interface with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to validate designs and provide DFT feedback.
• Support prototypes bring-up, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate early with hardware design teams to ensure testability of PCBs.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure test requirements are met.

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Hardware Test Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test procedures, fixtures, and software for PCBs, subassemblies, etc. for RF and radiation systems.
• Create both manual and automated test setups using lab and production-grade equipment.
• Develop and maintain test scripts to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports that align with design specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain traceability and detailed records for auditing and continuous improvement.
• Interface with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to validate new designs, provide DFT (Design for Test) feedback, and resolve test issues across the development lifecycle.
• Support prototypes bring-up and debug, assist with root cause analysis of test failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams early in the development cycle to provide DFT feedback, ensuring testability of PCBs and assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews for all active designs to ensure test requirements have been met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in hardware testing, PCB testing, design validation, etc.
• Expertise in a lab environment and experience using standard tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, VNAs, etc.
• Experience with any of the CAD tools (Altium, Eagle, Allegro, KiCad, Upverter, etc.)
• Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Bash, or C/C++).
