We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will be involved in the electronics hardware development lifecycle.

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Type: Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Support technical/commercial proposals and assist with preparation of estimates, schedules, compliance matrixes, and costing for new bids
  • Analyze customer needs/requirements to create hardware development plans and hardware verification plans
  • Analyze and specify hardware development environment (HDE), verification environment, debugging, and profiling tools
  • Develop, deploy, and support DO-254 processes, reviews (SOI), development plans, and review checklists
  • Analyze user requirements and create detailed hardware architecture and formal structured design
  • Perform electronics, hardware FPGA design, and mechanical engineering design
  • Design electronic circuits, components, systems, and equipment from detailed designs to meet EMC/EMI requirements and performance standards
  • Prepare material costs, timing estimates, reports, and design descriptions for electronic systems and equipment
  • Perform circuit analysis and traceability from user requirements to formal design and implementation
  • Support and inspect the installation, modification, testing, and operation of electronic components, systems, and equipment
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware circuits
  • Determine FMEA at Board and Component levels
  • Integrate hardware into embedded system environments, including test benches and on aircraft at customer sites
  • Collaborate with product development teams, including product/systems and software engineers, in a leadership role
  • Produce and manage work packages and submit status reports to Hardware Engineering Manager
  • Participate in program risk assessment and mitigation
  • Supervise junior designers and other engineering staff
  • Provide presentations to customers on hardware design and operation
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent training and experience
  • Strong experience in electronic product design
  • Proven experience working with standards, processes, and procedures in a design environment
  • Familiarity with certification standards
