Job Description

This is a hands-on, non-managerial hardware engineering role supporting a primarily hardware-focused product portfolio, with some customer support responsibilities. The team designs and supports instrumentation and electronics products, including nodes and related accessories such as charging racks, data-download solutions, communication interfaces, and USB connectivity. The operation builds approximately 100,000 nodes per year. The successful candidate will contribute to new product development and an upcoming large instrumentation project incorporating radio and wireless technology. The role is expected to have limited interaction with vehicle teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Firmware experience
• Software experience
• Experience with communication protocols, including USB
• Instrumentation experience, particularly digital instrumentation
• Altium experience (Industry standard)
• High-speed digital and RF layout experience
• FPGA and microprocessor layout experience
• Complex PCB design and layout experience, typically 4 to 8 layers
• Experience giving presentations

Work Environment

The position is Calgary-based, working on-site with a small team consisting of two team members and a manager, plus one off-site team member who is retiring. The standard expectation is five days in person, with flexibility for family needs. Core hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexible start and finish times around these core hours.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
