Sportchek is seeking a Department Sales Manager of Hardgoods who is passionate about sports and leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You know your sports and enjoy staying active, bringing product knowledge to help shoppers.

You will coach and develop your department, create daily game and sales plans, set expectations, and build development plans for full-time staff while fostering a positive work environment and strong brand ambassador culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a retail environment, supervisory preferred.
• Proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service skills.
• Demonstrated interest in or involvement in sports or the sporting goods industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop department team with ongoing feedback and support.
• Build and manage a daily game and sales plan for the department.
• Create development plans for full-time staff and provide coaching to close performance gaps.
• Communicate skills through effective huddles, meetings, and coaching sessions.
• Develop and maintain a positive work environment and brand ambassadors.
