Job summary

Sport Chek in Canada is seeking a Department Sales Manager of Hardgoods to lead a team, drive sales, and mentor staff while upholding a superior customer experience. You will coach and develop team members, build daily sales plans, and strengthen department performance in a sports retail setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in retail with a track record of growth and excellent customer service, and a demonstrated interest in sports or sporting goods.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a retail environment, preferably at a supervisory level.
• Proven track record of business growth and exceptional customer service skills.
• Interest in or involvement in sports or the sporting goods industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop department team with clear expectations and ongoing feedback.
• Build and manage daily game and sales plans for the department.
• Develop development plans for full-time staff and provide coaching to close performance gaps.
• Lead customer experience and mentor staff to ensure a positive environment.
