Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Handyman to assist with daily upkeep, maintenance, and smooth operation of the facility in Ontario. Role includes basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall, and general repairs.

You will inspect facilities and perform ad‑hoc duties as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Qualifications include strong English communication, a valid driver's license, ability to lift heavy objects, and comfort with using manual or electric tools.

Qualifications

  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform handyman duties and heavy lifting.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Familiar with safe operation of equipment and site safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance on the facility including changing light bulbs, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, minor plumbing, and tile repair.
  • Repair interior walls and install drywall for repair or replacement.
  • Inspect the facility and other structures to detect malfunctions, perform furniture maintenance and conduct repairs.
  • Ad‑hoc duties such as window and door repairs, mounting curtain poles, track, and fixture shelves.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $37.62 . Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Job Summary
How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and smooth operation of the facility.

As a Handyman, You Will
  • Perform regular maintenance on the facility including changing light bulbs, carpentry, painting, minor drywall repair, minor plumbing, and tile repair

  • Inspect the facility and other structures to detect malfunctions, furniture maintenance and conduct repairs accordingly
  • Ad-Hoc duties such as Window and door repairs, mounting curtain poles, track, and fixture shelves
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
About You
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English both oral and written
  • Valid Driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of this position
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting and extensive walking around the facility
  • Ability to operate related equipment such as manual or electric tools
  • Ability to work independently as well as get along with others
  • Should be highly detail oriented as well as ability to multitask
  • Must be aware and or trained on the safe use of equipment, site safety practices, fire prevention and work regulations
