Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Kamloops team. You will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities, ensuring safety, comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 4 Unrestricted driver's license or equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities.
  • Ability to operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Passenger assistance with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking.
  • Operate HandyDART vehicles following regulations and safety protocols.
  • Follow routes and schedules to ensure timely passenger arrival.
  • Provide a safe, respectful and empathetic environment for passengers.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report defects to maintenance.

Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Kamloops team.

As a HandyDart Bus Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Your Role
  • Passenger Assistance: Safely and courteously assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle.
  • Safe Operation: Operate HandyDART vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards.
  • Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations.
  • Safety and Sensitivity: Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.

Your Profile
  • You have a valid Class 4 Unrestricted driver's license or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
Your location:
  • This is a casual, unionized position in Kamloops, BC.
  • HandyDART Drivers must be available for five days a week (assigned two consecutive days off).
  • Early, split & late shifts may be required.
