Job summary

Walter Surface Technologies is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will be responsible for receiving, put-away, picking, shipping, transfers, and inventory control on the floor.

The ideal candidate will have strong WMS/RF experience, team leadership, and a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves coaching staff, optimizing labor, and driving continuous improvement on the warehouse floor.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on WMS/RF experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or logistics environment.
• Experience supervising lift-truck-intensive operations; VNA experience preferred.
• Strong inventory control and cycle-counting knowledge with discrepancy investigations.
• Experience using warehouse KPIs and productivity data to manage priorities and improve performance.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills for reporting and trend identification.
• Excellent communication and floor leadership abilities to coach staff.
• Lean, 5S, root-cause analysis or continuous-improvement experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift start-up meetings and manage labor and equipment.
• Ensure accurate, real-time WMS/RF transactions for receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, shipping, and inventory adjustments.
• Manage cycle counting and inventory accuracy; investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure lift truck and VNA safety; conduct daily inspections and address defects.
• Plan staffing based on workload and monitor productivity; support cross-training.
• Use KPIs to identify issues and drive improvements in safety, service, quality and productivity.
• Maintain SOPs and support 5S, safety, quality, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
