Job summary

MW ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING LIMITED is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to join our team. You will learn by reading electrical drawings, testing systems, and assisting with installations and maintenance to meet project schedules and quality standards.

This apprenticeship offers hands-on training across 12–440V systems, including comms equipment, with a structured pathway and a Monday–Friday workweek. Up to £34,640 salary during the programme.

Qualifications

• Completed a trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• Clear understanding of electrical installation drawings.
• Awareness of SHE risks and mitigation.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes.
• Comfortable in confined spaces and at heights.
• Possession of safety certifications such as SHE Induction, COSHH Awareness, and Working at Height.
• Experience in marine, offshore, construction or manufacturing environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, MDS, and guidance information.
• Test electrical systems including 12v, 24v, 110v, 240v, and 440v.
• Perform crimping and soldering as required.
• Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and defect rectifications per schedules.
• Install, test, and maintain communications equipment (VHF radios, intercoms, GPS, AIS).
• Diagnose faults and rectify defects.
• Conduct detailed inspections and use measurement tools.
• Utilise calibration measurement equipment to ensure accurate system functionality.
