Total Life, a national behavioral health telehealth platform, is seeking a hands-on CTO to build AI-first systems and set the technical vision from the ground up. Based in Vancouver, this role blends leadership with active coding as you own architecture and align product with strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership roles in startups or high-growth companies.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship across the stack with hands-on coding.
• Lead AI-first product development and scalable AI systems in clinical workflows.
• Co-own the strategic roadmap with leadership and shape long-term technical vision.
• Champion product design and customer experience for older adults.
• Engineer for growth: acquisition, activation, retention and engagement features.
• Integrate marketing technology and connect to growth engines.
• Own healthcare infrastructure including payer integrations and interoperability.
• Secure and scale the platform with HIPAA compliance and uptime.
• Build and lead the engineering team and culture.
