Job summary

Vancouver Island University invites applications for a permanent half-time faculty position in the Criminology Department. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in criminology, criminal law and criminal procedure at the Nanaimo and Cowichan campuses.

The appointee should integrate practice, theory and critical analysis in the classroom and support student learning and success as part of department and Faculty duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and proficiency with instructional technologies.
• Ability to integrate legal practice, theory and critical analysis in the classroom.
• Commitment to mentoring students and supporting academic development in criminology.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in criminology, criminal law and criminal procedure.
• Teach at Nanaimo and Cowichan campuses.
• Contribute to departmental, Faculty and institutional governance and service.
