The Department of Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies (I/X) is inviting candidates to apply for one course offered in the Spring 2027 semester at our Nanaimo campus (in-person delivery). The successful candidate will create and deliver course content, work collaboratively with Indigenous/Xwulmuxw faculty, instruct, assess, and grade student achievement, and assist students in office hours. INDG 380: Special Topics in Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies An intensive study of selected topics in Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies. Topics vary from year to year to ensure a broad range of coverage. This course may be taken for credit on different topics, to a maximum of three times. The course is scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30 p.m. Candidates will want to consider current course offerings, both within Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies as well as other departments, to avoid overlap with existing offerings.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
