HACCP Coordinator - Mountain Creek Farms - Calgary, AB

Department: Quality Assurance/Tech Services

Location: Calgary, AB

Position: HACCP Coordinator

JBS Food Canada ULC, with approximately 3,300 employees, is one of the largest employers in southern Alberta and a major beef processor in Canada. Our facilities include the Head Office and a Case Ready plant in Calgary, and a processing plant in Brooks, Alberta, handling around 4,200 cattle daily. Our Calgary-based Mountain Creek Farms produces value-added products such as marinated items, portion packs, and kebabs.

We are seeking an experienced HACCP Coordinator to join our team. This role involves working closely with the production team to monitor and uphold the quality of our handmade products.

Please note: This position is located in Calgary, Alberta.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of HACCP experience in a fast-paced food environment
  • Post-secondary education in Food Science or related field
  • Food Industry training is an asset
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles
  • Understanding of ISO 17025 standards is an asset
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently and in teams
  • Decisive, with strong risk assessment skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the HACCP system
  • Maintain compliance with GFSI standards
  • Set and monitor standards across production, shipping, receiving, and packaging
  • Serve as liaison with auditors and regulators
  • Create and maintain documentation and records
  • Train staff on standards and procedures
  • Support lab accreditation and program updates
  • Perform verifications and record checks
  • Collaborate with CFIA inspectors and other departments
  • Assist with audits, policies, customer complaints, testing, and special projects
  • Manage document control and review policies annually
  • Provide backup support to QA Technicians

Office setting with daily cold environment exposure.
