This contract role involves leading the technical development of enterprise-level insurance applications, ensuring best coding practices and mentoring team members. We are seeking a highly experiencedSenior Guidewire Developer / Technical Leadto guide and mentor a development team working on enterprise-level insurance applications. The successful candidate will ensure efficient coding practices, alignment with out-of-the-box (OOTB) Guidewire product standards, and promote collaboration and innovation throughout the software development lifecycle.
Lead the technical development team through all SDLC phases: design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
Write testable, scalable, efficient code while setting high-quality coding standards.
Align solution design with Guidewire OOTB best practices, cloud standards, and ensure long-term maintainability.
Collaborate with Guidewire support to report issues, understand digital roadmap updates, and implement features aligned with upcoming releases.
Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and enforce secure coding standards.
Perform impact analyses, recommend solutions, and lead the implementation of complex enhancements.
Develop and document technical specifications and system designs.
Partner with architects, BAs, and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.

Description
1 10+ years in system design and development, preferably within the insurance domain
2 5+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center (v7+), and Jutro or JDP
3 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field); excellent organizational and communication skills
4 5+ years working in Agile/SCRUM/Lean environments
5 Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and drive decisions under ambiguity
6 Proven ability to mentor team members and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
7 Experience resolving complex technical issues and recommending innovative solutions
Experience with Guidewire Digital products (e.g., Customer Engage, JDP)
Integration: Messaging, APIs, startable plugins, web services, batch jobs
Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and distributed systems
Experience with SDLC tools: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Bitbucket
Familiarity with Worker Compensation lines (preferred)
Exposure to DevOps tools and practices
