Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Guidewire Developer / Technical Lead to guide and mentor a development team working on enterprise-level insurance applications. The successful candidate will ensure efficient coding practices, alignment with out-of-the-box (OOTB) Guidewire product standards, and promote collaboration and innovation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical development team through all SDLC phases: design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
• Write testable, scalable, efficient code while setting high-quality coding standards.
• Align solution design with Guidewire OOTB best practices, cloud standards, and ensure long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate with Guidewire support to report issues, understand digital roadmap updates, and implement features aligned with upcoming releases.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and enforce secure coding standards.
• Perform impact analyses, recommend solutions, and lead the implementation of complex enhancements.
• Develop and document technical specifications and system designs.
• Partner with architects, BAs, and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years in system design and development, preferably within the insurance domain
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center (v7+), and Jutro or JDP
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field); excellent organizational and communication skills
• 5+ years working in Agile/SCRUM/Lean environments
• Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and drive decisions under ambiguity
• Proven ability to mentor team members and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
• Experience resolving complex technical issues and recommending innovative solutions

Additional Technical Competencies:

• Guidewire Cloud Certification
• Experience with Guidewire Digital products (e.g., Customer Engage, JDP)
• Web development skills: ReactJS, Angular, NodeJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6, TypeScript, JSON
• Integration: Messaging, APIs, startable plugins, web services, batch jobs
• Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and distributed systems
• Experience with SDLC tools: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Bitbucket
• Familiarity with Worker Compensation lines (preferred)
• Exposure to DevOps tools and practices
