ALTEN CANADA is seeking a senior Java and Guidewire specialist to design, develop, configure, integrate, test, and support Guidewire ClaimCenter within a modern Java/microservices environment. You will collaborate with business, technology, external, and digital stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable integrations across the full SDLC.

Day-to-day work includes building APIs and microservices, working with Gosu in ClaimCenter, supporting test automation with QA, and bridging API vs.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of Java (back-end) development experience including Spring Boot and microservices/API development.
• 7+ years of experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, Gosu, and Guidewire integration frameworks.
• Ability to support the full software development lifecycle (design → build → test → deploy → production support).
• Experience with REST API integration.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain APIs/microservices (Java, Spring Boot) handling claim intake data from the mobile app/web portal.
• Work within Guidewire ClaimCenter (Gosu) to understand and support triggers/automation once claims land in the system.
• Collaborate closely with QA to support and help build out test automation practices.
• Bridge the API and Guidewire components, avoiding over-specialization on one side.

The consultant will design, develop, configure, integrate, test, and support Guidewire ClaimCenter solutions within a modern Java and microservices environment, collaborating with business, technology, external, and digital stakeholders (including web, mobile, and customer experience teams) to deliver secure and scalable integrations. The role covers the full SDLC, from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support/enhancements.

Day to day activities:

• Build and maintain APIs/microservices (Java, Spring Boot) handling claim intake data from the mobile app/web portal
• Work within Guidewire ClaimCenter (Gosu) to understand and support triggers/automation once claims land in the system
• Collaborate closely with the team's dedicated QA to support and help build out test automation practices
• Work within the team's ~80/20 API-vs-Guidewire skew, bridging both sides rather than specializing in only one

Must-haves:

• 7+ years of Java (back-end) development experience, incl. Spring Boot and microservices/API development
• 7+ years of experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, Gosu, and Guidewire integration frameworks
• Ability to support the full software development lifecycle (design → build → test → deploy → production support)
• Experience with REST API integration

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with Apigee
• Comfortable supporting test automation practices alongside a dedicated QA
• Tools / software / methodology / certification: Guidewire ACE certification à nice to have
• Soft skills: Team collaboration, ability to work well with QA/BA/Scrum Master in a small squad

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $120,000 per year OR $85/HR
