Amico Major Projects Inc. in Ontario is seeking a capable Guideway Coordinator to support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract for the Ontario Line.

You will assist the project manager with day-to-day coordination and reporting. The role requires 2–4 years in construction coordination on large infrastructure, knowledge of CM software and MS Office, and the ability to work with design teams and subcontractors to meet timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

Job description

The Guideway Coordinator will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ("EGS") of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

What is the project?

The Ontario Line ("OL") is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel ("NC") project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ("EGS") and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract ("PTUS"), with supporting Early Works.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the elevated guideway project manager in the day to day running of guideway activities.
  • Coordinate with the design teams to report, analyse and track potential design changes as they arise.
  • Supervise engineering and construction activities, ensuring compliance with established project and city standards/specs.
  • Monitoring construction progress and reporting status to manager.
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive construction plans, overseeing subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
  • Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Managing meetings, taking the notes for minutes, and following up all items ensuring all of them being addressed and closed in timely manner.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, including updates on timelines, budget status, and any issues encountered.
  • Facilitate meetings to review progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and kept current.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, promoting a positive team environment and a culture of collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as construction coordinator or related role with experience in large infrastructure project preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of stations construction practices, materials, and relevant local regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of bridge/structural construction including specifications, codes and standards.
  • Experience with subway/light rail projects, including delivery, and handover of elevated guideway/ bridge assets is an asset.
  • Problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Work Conditions

  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License G or G2.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environmental conditions.
  • May require working extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines
