Job summary

Best Western Plus Fernie is seeking friendly, team-oriented individuals to support our Guest Service Team. The Guest Service Agent will register arriving guests, handle reservations, provide local information, and contribute to a positive atmosphere.

The role offers a dynamic schedule with two overnight Night Audit shifts (acting as Duty Manager) and a mix of morning and evening shifts. We do not offer LMIA or sponsorship; valid work authorization in Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a guest service or front desk role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Proficiency with reservation software and office equipment.
• Knowledge of local attractions is an asset.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Register arriving guests and assign rooms.
• Process group arrivals and departures.
• Take, cancel, and change room reservations.
• Provide information about local attractions and points of interest.
• Investigate and resolve guest complaints and claims.
• Process guest departures, calculate charges, and receive payments.
• Balance cash, complete balance sheets, and prepare cash reports.
• Maintain inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
• Follow emergency and safety procedures.
• Perform clerical duties such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages promptly.
• Assist guests with special needs and requests.
• Handle wake-up call services.
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
