Job summary

Steele Hotels, an independent hotel operator based in Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking a Front Desk Agent on a casual, call-in basis at the Albatross Hotel in Gander, NL. You will greet guests, check them in, and provide information to ensure a comfortable stay.

The role requires a positive attitude, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal skills to handle guest inquiries, resolve issues, and support overnight shifts when required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in customer service or hospitality
• A high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience
• Provide a clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to learn computer functions and other on-the-job skills
• Strong eye for details and the ability to multitask
• Strong math and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and provide them with any information they need to enjoy their stay
• Respond to guest complaints, requests and emergencies
• Reconcile all accounts in a timely manner and verify all end of day cash etc. from multiple departments and learning/working overnight audit shifts, when required
• Ensure invoices are accurate and sent to the accounting department
• Schedule guest wake-up calls and book reservations
• Answer phone calls, verify reservations and guest requests
• Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and issues, as needed
• Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues, and be well groomed
• Other duties, as assigned
