Job summary

A local hospitality group in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a customer-focused Host to join their team. The successful candidate will welcome guests, assist in seating, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities include greeting customers, providing menus, managing guest flow, and maintaining a tidy host stand. Ideal candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required. This position offers a starting compensation of $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant hosting or serving experience preferred, not required.
• Friendly and customer-focused personality.
• Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests.
• Ability to communicate guests’ needs to staff effectively.
• Ability to communicate on the telephone.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them at tables or waiting areas.
• Provide guests with menus.
• Assign patrons to tables based on needs and rotation.
• Inform guests of current promotions.
• Manage the flow of guests and provide accurate wait times.
• Keep the host stand neat and tidy.
• Make popcorn as required.
