Job summary

Air Inuit Ltd. in Montreal (YUL) is seeking a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic to maintain company vehicles and ground support equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational.

You will work a 37.5-hour week with a starting hourly wage of 27.87 CAD, potentially rising to 53.80 CAD depending on experience. Benefits include RRSP, group insurance, telemedicine, EAP, flight privileges, and recognition

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain Airport Security Clearance (RAIC).
• Ability to communicate in at least two of Nunavik's official languages; three is an asset.
• Certification as a nationally recognized automotive maintenance technician.
• Experience in maintenance/repair of aviation GSE is an asset.
• Preference for Arctic environment experience.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to northern locations.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance servicing.
• Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals.
• Troubleshooting of ground support equipment.
• Repairing and overhauling ground support equipment.
• Maintaining equipment in a safe condition.
• Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air.
• Remove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and sensors.
• Keep tools and support equipment in safe and operational condition; keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Complete GSE paperwork as required.
• Carry out other tasks as required by the company.
