Qualifications

Job description

Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys working on a variety of auto and diesel engines?

The Ground Service Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing gas/diesel engines and associated systems, electrical systems, transmissions, gears, brakes, and other airport service equipment. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of gas/diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions/rear ends, basic chassis/brakes, and possess fabrication skills (MIG and Arc welding/cutting). ASE Certification is preferred. AGI offers paid on-the-job training, advancement opportunities, and safety incentive bonuses.

As an AGI Mechanic, you will:

  • Respond promptly to equipment service requests to troubleshoot and repair vehicles, belt loaders (unleaded, diesel, and propane engines), lavatory service trucks, air conditioner carts, ground power units, and more.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance for each piece of equipment.
  • Coordinate with station management to control budgets and order parts and supplies.

To qualify as an AGI Mechanic, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass a drug screening and obtain airport security clearance, including a comprehensive 10-year background check.

Physical requirements include:

  • Lifting up to 70 pounds (32 kg) regularly, often in confined spaces.
  • Climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and stooping frequently and for extended periods.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions, around jet and machinery noises.

Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as airlines operate 24/7. We value energy, enthusiasm, respect, and safety in our team members.
