Job summary

Mazergroup Ltd. in Brandon, MB is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with invoice processing, AP tasks, and month-end activities.

You will review vendor invoices, code expenses, match with POs, and reconcile statements while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education; post-secondary education in accounting or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proven experience as an accounts payable clerk or in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
• Verify or obtain appropriate authorization for purchases.
• Ensure proper coding and descriptions.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment processing.
• Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.
