Job summary

Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain is seeking a Group Sales Manager for the Quebec Market to maximize revenues in the group segment and manage requests for groups of 50 rooms or more. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will collaborate with the sales team, liaise with convention and meeting service managers, and drive pricing strategies.

The role requires bilingual English/French communication, strong sales acumen, and the ability to travel as needed.

Position: Group Sales Manager - Quebec Market

Salary: From $70,000 per year

Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible via an underground walkway adjacent to the Bell Centre. This iconic Montreal hotel was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Reporting to the Director, Sales & Marketing, as a member of the Sales & Marketing team, the Manager is responsible for maximizing revenues generated in the group segment. He/she will be responsible for handling requests from groups of 50 rooms or more. He/she will work closely with other managers to maximize sales and liaise with convention and meeting service managers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain key business relationships and partnerships to increase company rates, volume and revenue.
• Negotiate group rates.
• Develop and generate group contracts.
• Follow-up on proposals and contracts.
• Strategically structure pricing for each category segment.
• Understand global market and economic trends.
• Work in collaboration with Marriott International (GSO) and business partners.
• Participate in industry activities both inside and outside the hotel.
