Group Home Site Supervisor

Location: Vancouver, BC V6M 3Z1 & V5X2J1 (Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting)

Department: Client Services & Human Resources

Responsible To: Director of Client Services & Manager, Human Resources

Position Type: Full-Time

Remote/On-Site: On-Site

Compensation: CA$36.00-CA$40.00 per hour

About Group Home SiteSupervisor Role

Reporting to the Director of Client Services and Manager of Human Resources, the Group Home Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination, development, daily operations, and evaluation of the sites, ensuring high‑quality care and service delivery for all clients.

Responsibilities include functioning as part of the management team in relation to supervision and development of staff, liaison/communication with clients, client families, associated health care agencies as well as the organization and supervision of the daily operation of the site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
  • Trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines staff. Defines duties, organizes workloads and arranges staffing to ensure adequate operation of the site.
  • Provides coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback as required.
  • Provides reports to the Director of Human Resources on staff, clients, and site progress and concerns as requested.
  • Participates as a member of the management team by attending meetings, supporting continuous quality improvement objectives, and serving on committees as required.
Site Operations & Administration
  • Develops, implements, controls and evaluates the site’s goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with the Society’s policies and procedures and that required standards are maintained.
  • Oversees the administration of the site, establishing effective organizational and operational systems.
  • Develops, follows, and directs necessary documentation and reporting systems to maintain accurate records and communication for the site.
  • Maintains budget control by implementing the management policies and procedures of purchasing, ordering, stock, inventory control and petty cash.
  • Uses required software platforms, such as Accuro, LGI, Microsoft Teams & SharePoint, to manage schedules, records, communication, and incident reporting.
  • Participates in the organizational on‑call rotation every 12 weeks (for 7 days) to respond to after‑hours emergencies using the designated emergency pager/cell phone and maintaining the emergency binder.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Client Care & Support
  • Observes and reports any changes or concerns in a client’s behaviour or medical problems to the Director of Client Services.
  • Provides clients with gentle, respectful, and safe care at all times.
  • Works with site nurses to update individual client care plans and provide appropriate training to frontline staff.
Safety, Compliance & Confidentiality
  • Carries out all routines and procedures to maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for the clients and co‑workers.
  • Ensures clients’ right of privacy and confidentiality are maintained. Ensures that proper security procedures are followed in the handling and storage of any confidential material.
  • Ensures that the site’s operations comply with all required Health and Safety and other government standards and regulations and maintains a professional relationship with these agencies.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of, and complies with all, Society, Governmental, and Licensing policies and procedures as required.

Qualifications
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in being able to manage, lead, support, and guide support over 10 staff in the execution of quality care to clients.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills to administer all elements of a program involving its residential clientele, personnel, physical plant and properties, record‑keeping and other requirements as determined by the Employer, its funding/licensing agents, client families, social agencies, and others.
  • Strong proficiency with technology and digital tools used for documentation, reporting, and communication, especially Microsoft Teams & SharePoint.
  • Must consent to and pass a Criminal Records Check for the vulnerable sector.
  • Must hold a valid BC driver’s license.
Education
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Health‑Related Field
  • LPN/RN (preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supervising in a related health care field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, including Teams, SharePoint, and Word (required).
  • Experience with software such as Accuro and LGI (asset).
  • Experience in CARF‑accredited, CLBC, or VCH‑licensed sites (asset).
  • Supervisory experience in a group home setting (asset).
  • Experience managing sites requiring MCFD clearances (asset).

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy, and patience.
  • Strong ability to manage a team of 5‑10 frontline staff, including leading meetings, resolving conflict, providing training, and supporting performance.
  • Must have the ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment associated with the duties of the position.
