The City of St. Albert is recruiting as Group Fitness Instructors to lead a variety of group classes. You will apply your coaching and teaching skills to help participants of all fitness levels achieve their goals.

Hours are based on class schedules between 5:30 and 9:30, with end date Dec 31 and possible extension. Certifications such as Fitness Alberta, CanFitPro, Zumba, or Yoga 200–500 hours are required, plus First Aid. Prior instruction experience is preferred.

Job Details

The City of St. Albert is recruiting individuals to join our Recreation & Parks department as Group Fitness Instructors to lead various group classes.

Qualifications

• 1 or more of the following certifications is required: Fitness Alberta, Water Art, CanFitPro, Zumba, or 200‑or 500‑hour Yoga certification, but not limited to, as other equivalent or related certifications may be considered.
• Current Standard First Aid Certification.
• Preference will be given to those with prior instruction experience.
• Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

We are looking for motivated and energetic individuals who have strong leadership and teaching abilities.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are determined by class times, which take place during operational hours of 5:30 – 9:30.

Term

This position has an end date of December 31, with a possibility of an extension.

Compensation

The wage ranges from $30 – $55 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

• Group Fitness Instructor $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
• Specialty Fitness Instructor $30 – $55 per hour
