Job summary

The Calgary Stampede is seeking an Equipment Operator - Groundskeeping to join the Parks & Facility Services Groundskeeping team in Calgary, AB. You will perform skilled, heavy manual labour and operate a range of heavy machinery to support park and facility maintenance for events year-round.

Responsibilities include safe operation of skid steers, forklifts, graders, and other equipment, directing staff at the site, and maintaining daily logs.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Class 3 driver's license with Air Brake Endorsement.
• 3–5 years forklift/equipment experience.
• Experience operating complex machines with close tolerances.
• Exceptional guest service and high attention to detail.
• WHMIS Certification.
• NSC driver status preferred (training available).

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, grader, articulating loader, tandem dump truck, mobile elevated work platforms, street sweepers and large John Deere tractors (Above 70 HP).
• Exercise superior judgment when operating equipment/tools/machinery with complex controls.
• Direct employees around work site and equipment to ensure safe, effective workflow.
• Complete daily logs and vehicle inspections in digital applications.
• Drive a water truck, operate a forklift, and handle materials as needed.
• Provide assistance for general maintenance and construction projects.
• Work a non-standard 40 hour week with evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
