Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort, owned by Alterra Mountain Company, seeks a Seasonal Full‑Time Supervisor, Grounds Maintenance in Ontario. You will supervise the grounds team across resort properties and oversee projects to meet time and budget specifications.

Ideal candidates have 3 years experience in landscape or property maintenance, knowledge of Grounds Department roles and equipment, and proficiency with MS Office. A valid G license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years landscape and/or property maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of all staff roles and equipment in the Grounds Department.
• Experience in light and medium sized equipment operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, MS Outlook) and Internet.
• Valid G Driver's License.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, leads and supports the grounds maintenance team across resort properties.
• Leads various maintenance projects to time and budget specifications.
• Onboards new hires and administers performance of direct reports (including corrective action).
• Completes weekly audits of properties to formulate work projects.
• Schedules audits and daily tasks while ensuring team safety and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintains compliance with industry standards by attending upgrade courses and staying current with trends.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The purpose of this role is to supervise, lead and support the grounds maintenance team with various property maintenance projects across the resort. The Supervisor, Grounds Maintenance is well versed in the routine grounds maintenance duties as well as the assigned work orders and will supervise tasks and projects to time and budget specifications.

• Provides support and works alongside direct reports to complete property maintenance and waste management operations
• Leads various maintenance projects
• Supports with the onboarding of new hires and administers the performance of direct reports (including corrective action)
• Completes weekly audits of properties to formulate work projects
• Supports the scheduling and planning of audits and completion of daily tasksEnsures the safety of team members and the following of safety standards
• Maintains compliance with industry standards by attending upgrade courses and staying current with emerging trends and best practices.

WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?

• 3 years Landscape and/or Property Maintenance (including Snow Removal) experience is mandatory.
• Possess a working knowledge of all staff roles and equipment in the Grounds Department.
• Experience in light and medium sized equipment operation is required
• Must show competency with using the basic Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, MS Outlook) as well as the Internet
• Valid G Drivers License
• Reliable transportation
