Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Groundsperson to support trimming operations on-site in Port Coquitlam, BC. You will assist climbers and trimmers, help with site setup, and contribute to safety and cleanup activities.

Ongoing training and career advancement are provided, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and professional growth within an employee-owned environment. This is a full-time, year-round on-site role with competitive hourly wages.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license required; 5-ton vehicle license an asset.
• Willingness to work toward arborist certification.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Previous landscape/horticulture experience is an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and learn continuously.

Responsibilities

• Groundwork support for trimming operations.
• Operate chainsaw and chipper; load brush and debris.
• Assist crew leader in job-site setup and equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Rake/leaf blow job sites and keep areas clean.

Position Overview

As a Groundsperson you will be working to support the operations above; you will play an important part in both site set up and assistance to both climbers and trimmers. This role will provide newcomers to the tree industry with a better understanding of what we do at Davey and provide the right individuals with a career advancement opportunities and training.

Job Duties

• Groundwork support for trimming operations.
• Chainsaw and Chipper operation/loading brush.
• Assist Crew leader in job- site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
• Abide by industry safety policies and procedures.
• Raking up/ leaf blowing job sites.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
• Willingness to work towards becoming a certified arborist.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Previous landscape/horticulture experience considered an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.

Additional Information

• Full time. Year-round employment.
• $20-$24/hour depending on experience and education.
