Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in Calgary, Alberta seeks a Grounds Person to support trimming crews and site setup, playing a vital role in safety and client interactions. You will help climbers and ground staff while contributing to efficient work flows.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years arboriculture experience.
• Willing to work out of town 5+ weeks at a time.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; able to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Willingness to become a certified arborist.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and willing to learn and progress.

Position Overview

As a Grounds Person you will be working to support the operations above; you will play an important part in both site set up and assistance to both climbers and trimmers. You will play a vital role in the safe execution of work for our crews and members of the public or clients. This role will provide newcomers to the tree industry with a better understanding of what we do at Davey and provide the right individuals with a career advancement opportunities and training.

• Abide by industry safety policies and procedures.
• Raking up/ leaf blowing job sites.

Additional Information

• Full time. Year-round employment.
• $20-$24/hour. Wage will be determined based on education, experience, and relevant qualifications or certifications.
