Job summary

Cargojet Ground Handler - Warehouse position in Vancouver is a fixed-term contract through January 2027. On-site role performing aircraft loading/offloading and warehousing with safety and security compliance.

Requirements include a High School diploma, valid Class 5 Driver's Licence, ability to obtain a RAIC pass, and willingness to work outdoors, weekends, and holidays. Training in WHMIS, SMS, and Dangerous Goods provided.

Responsibilities

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
• Sort packages by destination and other parameters.
• Communicate counts and package information to Lead Hands and Supervisors.
• Handle customer packages with care and attention.
• Ensure safety and security protocols are followed.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Handle Dangerous Goods Inspection/Acceptance.
• Meet deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team.
• Complete required training (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention).
• Work outside and around aircraft daily.
• Perform other duties as required.

Primary Objective of the Position:

Safe and timely processing of Cargo, aircraft loading/offloading and warehousing within the prescribed parameters.

Essential Position Functions:

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs
• Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters
• Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors
• Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance
• Meet time sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic
• Learn and apply specific training modules required for position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.…)
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Working in and around aircraft daily
• Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance)
• Ability to lift to 60lbs repeatedly
• Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time sensitive deadlines
• Excellent punctuality, and attendance habits
• Ability to learn quickly, and adapt to fast changing customer requirements
• Willingness to take direction with a keen interest in further development within the Vancouver operation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays
• Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required
• Be willing to work outside
