Job summary

Cargojet in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to safely and timely process cargo handling and aircraft loading/offloading within prescribed parameters.

You will perform loading/unloading, sort packages, communicate with leads and supervisors, and adhere to safety, security, and hazard training, including WHMIS and Dangerous Goods.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work within a team and meet deadlines in time-sensitive environments.
• Excellent punctuality and attendance habits.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
• Willingness to work with supervision and develop within local operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and stat holidays.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs
• Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters
• Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors
• Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance
• Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic
• Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.)
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Working in and around aircraft daily

Primary Objective of the Position:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance)

• Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time-sensitive deadlines
• Excellent punctuality, and attendance habits
