Job summary

Cargojet in Regina, SK is seeking a Part-time Ground Handler (Fixed Term Contract until January 2027). The role focuses on loading/offloading aircraft and trucks, handling packages up to 60 lbs, and ensuring safety and security protocols are followed.

You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment outdoors, around aircraft daily, with training modules such as WHMIS and Dangerous Goods. Flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays is required; RAIC security clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
• Ability to lift to 60lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time sensitive deadlines.
• Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays.

Responsibilities

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
• Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors.
• Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention.
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.
• Meet time sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic.
• Learn and apply specific training modules required for position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.).
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Working in and around aircraft daily.
• Perform other duties as required.

Primary Objective of the Position:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
