Job summary

Cargojet, Canada's leading overnight air cargo carrier, is seeking a Part-Time Ramp & Warehouse Operator at our St. John's, NL location. The role focuses on safe and timely loading/offloading of aircraft and trucks, with emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

You will lift up to 60 lbs, work in all weather, and follow safety protocols including WHMIS and security clearance when required. Strong punctuality and flexible shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work within a “team first” environment, and complete common goals within time-sensitive deadlines.
• Flexible to work shift work, weekends and stat holidays.
• Be willing to be subject to a background check; clearance is required.
• Be willing to work outside.

Responsibilities

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
• Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors.
• Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention.
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.

Primary Objective of the Position:
Safe and timely processing of Cargo and aircraft loading/offloading within prescribed parameters.

Essential Position Functions:

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.

• Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic.
• Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.…).
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Working in and around aircraft daily.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or equivalent.
