Job summary

Cargojet in Winnipeg is seeking a reliable cargo handler to safely load and unload shipments for our overnight air cargo network. You will operate ground support equipment, sort packages, and coordinate with leads to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold a valid Class 5 license, can lift 60 lbs repeatedly, and are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Training includes WHMIS and safety protocols; background checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a RAIC pass (Transport Canada Security Clearance).
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly.
• Strong teamwork and time-management skills.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and stat holidays.
• Be willing to undergo a background check.
• Be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work around aircraft daily.

Primary Objective Of The Position

Safe and timely processing of Cargo and aircraft loading/offloading within prescribed parameters.

Essential Position Functions

• Loading/offloading of aircrafts and trucks.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Repeated and continuous lifting of packages up to 60lbs.
• Sort packages based on customer, airport of destination, and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts, and package information to Lead Hands, and Supervisors.
• Handle customer packages, and freight with due care and attention.
• Ensure all safety and security protocols are adhered to.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
• Perform tasks associated with Dangerous Goods Handling/Acceptance.
• Meet time-sensitive deadlines for freight build-up/breakdown as part of a team dynamic.
• Learn and apply specific training modules required for the position (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.…).
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Working in and around aircraft daily.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
