Job summary

Executive Aviation at Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) is hiring Ground Handlers to support our Below the Wing team. This role reports to a Shift Lead and requires reliability, flexibility and the ability to work early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary ranges from 18.40 to 22.45 CAD per hour with comprehensive health benefits and flight benefits. Join a team that values safety, teamwork and high standards in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push/pull for extended periods.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather.
• Safety gear required: steel toe boots, reflective vest, hearing protection.
• Must meet Transport Canada conditions: security pass, criminal background check, valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Follow Transport Canada airline procedures.
• Drive and operate ground service equipment.
• Marshal/wing-walk aircraft to gate.
• Sort, load and unload guest baggage per load plan.
• Deliver guest baggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor.
• Service aircraft water and lavatories.
• Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove when found.
• Groom aircraft – clean cabin, galleys, lavatories, restock supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure airline procedures are followed in line with the rules and regulations of Transport Canada
• Drive and operate ground service equipment
• Marshall/wing-walk aircraft to gate
• Sort, load and offload guest baggage in accordance with load plan
• Deliver guest baggage to claim area and unload onto conveyor system
• Service aircraft water and lavatories
• Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove/dispose of when found
• Grooms aircraft – clean whole cabin, galleys, lavatories, restock lavatory with supplies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Personal flexibility to work shift work which includes early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays
• Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push and pull for extended periods of time
• A physical ability to consistently lift up to 70lbs/32kgs
• Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather
• Must wear safety wear – steel toe boots (green patch), reflective vest, and hearing protection
• An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
  • Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada
  • A criminal background check
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driver\'s abstract
