Position Purpose

Maintain and repair ground support equipment (GSE) such as de-icing trucks, tow tractors, forklifts, ground power units, and work stands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on GSE, including vehicles and engine-driven equipment.
• Conduct mechanical repairs on various equipment like tow bars, lifts, hydraulic units, and electric carts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical defects.
• Support remote airport station equipment as needed.
• Manage GSE inventory and communicate with suppliers.
• Handle controlled substances properly and maintain a clean work area.
• Work hours are Monday to Friday; shift work may be required based on operational needs.
• Follow policies and procedures prioritizing safety for yourself, colleagues, and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Auto or Heavy Equipment Mechanic trade program at a recognized post-secondary institution, or equivalent work experience and industry courses.
• Journeyman certification is preferred.
• Red Seal certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with aviation equipment is an asset.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Pass and Vehicle Operators Permit.
• Strong communication skills and a good work ethic.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset but not mandatory.
