Job summary

FreshCo in Victoria is looking for a Grocery Clerk to deliver friendly customer service while maintaining stock and store presentation. You will assist customers, merchandise shelves, and support back-room operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will follow food safety protocols and company policies, lift up to 20 lbs, stand for long periods, and work with a team to maximize store performance. Previous retail experience is a plus.

• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift to 20lbs, stand for long periods, and complete physical work.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to food safety protocols, SOPs, health and safety, and corporate policies.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock following inventory control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance to keep areas clean.
• Prepare customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
