Job summary

FreshCo / FreshCo Chalo in Canada is seeking a Grocery Clerk to deliver exceptional customer service, manage stock, and keep the store clean and organized. The role focuses on accurate procedures, safety compliance, and contributing to a positive shopping experience across the store.

You will assist in merchandising, prep customer orders, and support junior staff while maintaining high standards of efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift up to 20 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all food safety protocols, procedures, health and safety, and corporate policies.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock according to inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor cleanliness and presentation per company requirements.
• Prepare customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in training of junior staff.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
