Our client, a forefront entity in managing South Africa's complex energy infrastructure , is actively seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Specialist to join their forward-thinking team, operating remotely but supporting operations in the Northern Cape region. This crucial role focuses on the technical challenges and opportunities presented by integrating diverse energy sources, particularly renewables like solar and wind, into the existing national grid. You will be instrumental in developing strategies and solutions that ensure grid stability, reliability, and efficiency as the energy landscape evolves. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the impact of integrating intermittent renewable energy sources (solar, wind) on grid stability and performance.
• Develop and implement technical solutions for managing grid constraints and ensuring power quality.
• Work with forecasting models for renewable energy generation and grid demand.
• Provide expert advice on grid codes, interconnection standards, and regulatory requirements for new energy projects.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external developers, and regulatory bodies on grid integration challenges.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies for enhancing grid flexibility and resilience.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems analysis, grid operations, or renewable energy integration.
• In-depth understanding of grid codes , stability studies, and power system modeling software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory).
• Expertise in the technical aspects of solar PV and wind farm integration.
• Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
