Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is seeking a Graphic Designer & Social Media Coordinator to support interdepartmental activities by archiving, designing, producing, implementing, coordinating, and publishing digital and graphic content for digital marketing, exhibitions, and programs. You will liaise with external contractors and report to the Marketing Specialist.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, media production, design, digital communications or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of digital production experience (photo, video, audio) with advanced photography and video skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and proofreading abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups and providing courteous service.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Reader, Premiere Pro), Hootsuite, Meta Campaign Manager, Meta Ads Manager, Meta Business Suite, and MS Office Suite.
  • Skilled in managing and optimizing social media platforms.

  • Designing print and digital marketing materials that support exhibitions and programs.

Job description

The Graphic Designer & Social Media Coordinator supports the interdepartmental activities at the Gallery by archiving, designing, producing, implementing, coordinating, and publishing digital and graphic content. These include digital marketing efforts and audio-visual interpretive materials. Reporting to the Marketing Specialist, this position works closely on communication planning and serves as a liaison with external contractors, such as graphic designers, exhibition designers, videographers, and printing service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating engaging social media, photo, video, and digital content.
  • Managing the Gallery's social media channels and online community engagement.
  • Designing print and digital marketing materials that support exhibitions and programs.
  • Coordinating creative projects, digital assets, and production schedules.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, media production, design, digital communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital production (photo, video, audio), with advanced photography and video skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and proofreading abilities.
