Job Description

This senior level 8-month contract position is responsible for developing creative print and digital design projects, including advertisements, store signage, and promotional materials, ensuring adherence to our brand guidelines. Working closely with the Manager - Art Direction & Design, this role will collaborate with a team of designers to execute the Farm Boy vision across all departments, elevating the customer experience. All duties must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

• Execute all print and digital creative marketing initiatives from conceptualization to design and final production.
• Develop design concepts and support the production of assigned projects from the Manager - Art Direction & Design and Senior Graphic Designers.
• Collaborate and communicate project stages effectively with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain organized and accurate file management.
• Promote company policies and foster high morale, teamwork, and productivity through personal leadership.
• Develop visual concepts, layouts, and designs for print and digital media, including web assets, social media, brochures, presentations, signage, etc.
• Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and brand guidelines.
• Perform other related duties periodically as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Graphic Design or related field, plus at least 5 years of supporting design or marketing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to complete projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), with experience in SketchUp, Asana, motion, and video considered assets.
• Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and a passion for quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to Ottawa area stores.

Work & Sensory Environment:

• Providing service to multiple departments, working under various deadlines.
• Potentially performing sign installation tasks in Ottawa stores with team members.
• Possible eye strain from computer use and exposure to open office noise and interruptions.
