Job summary

The Government of Nova Scotia invites applications for a permanent Program Coordinator, Grants Administration in Halifax. This role sits within the Education & Early Childhood Development department and focuses on administering government programs, interpreting requirements, and guiding clients and partners through eligibility decisions.

You will support program updates, develop guidance materials, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent, e.g., supporting administration of programs or services including grants/funding
• Ability to apply sound judgement and make effective decisions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with initiative
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• French language ability is an asset

Responsibilities

• Administers, promotes and interprets new and existing programs and service delivery requirements
• Supports program updates and ensures standards are met with clear information for clients and partners
• Reviews applications, assesses eligibility and provides guidance on requirements and next steps
• Responds to questions and resolves issues from program users promptly and fairly
• Applies legislation, regulations and policies and supports program evaluation
• Develops and updates materials for public and internal use
• Monitors expenditures and assists with budget forecasting where applicable
• Supports digital tools and service improvements to enhance client experience
• Maintains accurate program records and supports data collection and reporting
