Job summary

Harvest Manitoba is seeking a Grant Coordinator to join the Development Team. The role focuses on prospecting, researching, and securing grants and foundation funding to support our mission of ensuring food security for Manitobans.

Reporting to the VP of Partnership and Development, you will assist with grant writing, compliance, and donor stewardship while collaborating across the organization to maximize funding opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven grant writing experience and fundraising background.
  • Strong research and writing skills for compelling proposals.
  • Excellent communication with funders and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Familiarity with donor management systems and MS Office 365.

Harvest Manitoba (“Harvest”) is a charitable organization dedicated to nourishingour communities and our sense of community so that no Manitoban goes hungry.We collect and share 13 million pounds of food every year, which is sorted andpacked and distributed to Manitobans through our Community Food Network ofmore than 380 food banks and agencies in Winnipeg, rural, northern and FirstNations communities. Right now, we feed 108,000 Manitobans every month; 49%are children. Our Food Distribution Centre, which includes our Community SupportCentre and Warehouse, is in our Winnipeg headquarters.

Position Summary

the people that we work with and serve. We are seeking a Grant Coordinator to join our Development Team

and play a key role in securing funding to support our mission.

Reporting to the VP of Partnership and Development and working with the Fund Development manager, the

Grant Coordinator will support, assist, and collaborate with the Development Team in prospecting,

researching, and securing grants and foundation funding. This role is essential in identifying new funding

opportunities, writing and managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Alongside the VP of Partnerships and Development design and implement a strategic grant plan that

Qualifications & Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a
  • 3 Years Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
  • Strong research, current writing, and communication skills with the ability to create compelling
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and donor management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, adhering to ethical
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices and grant compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
  • Commitment to Harvest Manitoba’s mission of ensuring food security for all.
  • Knowledge of food-security and poverty issues an asset
  • Required to have a clear a Criminal Background Check (CRC)
  • Required to have a valid MB Class 5 driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle is strongly preferred.
